To go with our fabulous breads and pastries we also do a range of jams and condiments. Marinated olives, hummus, tapenade, tzatziki, and chutneys are a few of the things on offer.

Some of our current jam flavours include: Ginger orange marmalade, strawberry pineapple, apple cranberry, starfruit.

We are constantly developing new flavour combinations and trying new condiments and deli items, so it’s always worth stopping by to see and taste what we’ve come up with!

Chegworth Valley Farm (Kent / UK) Fruit Juices

 

A selection of the finest English fruit juices freshly pressed from fruit grown and hand selected on their family farm in the beautiful Chegworth Valley in the Kent countryside.

Pressed in small batches, Chegworth Valley Juices are a range of 100% pure apple juices and a selection of aromatic blends using pears, raspberries, strawberries, beetroot, rhubarb, blackcurrants, and blackberries. Full of natural goodness and containing no added sugars, sweeteners, concentrates, artificial colourings, flavourings, or preservatives.

Our customers also complained of the poor juices available in the UK and the misleading ways some drinks manufacturers marketed their drinks particularly to children. Of particular concern were concentrated juices where the natural juice has been heated to a very high temperature to leave a thick sludge of questionable nutritional value which is then shipped all over the world and later reconstituted with water and other concentrated “aromas”. Also Juice Drinks which dominate supermarket shelves but actually only contain around 5% fruit juice and are then bulked out with water and sugar.

The fruit is tree ripened until perfectly ripe, hand selected and pressed in small batches. We bought a small traditional press and started making our own juices. A little nervously we took our first 150 bottles to a local fair and by giving away small sample cups and letting visitors taste the juices we sold out in less than 3 hours! We now sell a range or pure apple and pear juices and special blends using our raspberries, strawberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, rhubarb. The fruit is tree ripened until perfectly ripe, hand selected and pressed in small batches, often within hours of picking, and then bottled. The juices are then gently pasteurised to retain all the nutritional properties and the maximum flavour of the fruit.

Candy

Children and adults from all corners of Hong Kong love Saffron for our candy selection. We get regular shipments of US and UK candy, confectionery and chocolate.

If you’re from the States you’ll be after our Airheads, Big League Gum & Jolly Ranchers just to name a few. While Brits will salivate over our UK selection, including Lion Bars, Love Hearts  Curly Wurly’s and Penguins.

Visit The Stanley Sampler monthly fair held at our Stanley Cafe

We’ve noticed a dearth of decent local fairs in Hong Kong with products you’d actually want to buy. So, we are now working with expat Annalisa Ryle who already arranges craft and clothes fairs in Sai King and Discovery Bay . She is bringing her concept to Stanley once a month to give us an alternative to the Stanley market ! It’s free entry so do come and explore the stands which include home furnishings, home made jams , chutneys and pickles, clothes, jewelry and much more. Rogue Ales (Oregon USA) Retail and at our licensed Stanley Cafe

Rogue are one of the USA’s most respected micro-breweries. In 2012 they were awarded a bronze medal at the World Beer Championships and a Silver at the Australian International Beer Awards.

Saffron now stock a selection of Rogue Ales for retail and also for sale at our Stanley licensed premises. Try Dead Guy Ale, Juniper Pale Ale, Mocha Porter and Yellow Snow IPA amongst a host of others.

Americraft Imports

Laurie Goldberg, the founder and Managing Director of AmeriCraft Imports, is an attorney and beer enthusiast who moved from Los Angeles, California, to Hong Kong with her husband Adam, a fellow beer lover and avid home brewer. While living in the USA,they traveled extensively to sample the USA’s best local and regional beers. Saddened to find little American craft beer in Hong Kong, as well as little knowledge of the exciting developments in American brewing, AmeriCraft Imports was born from Laurie’s desire to keep drinking her favorite American brews and to change the perceptions of American beer in Hong Kong. They source all our beers directly from the breweries to bring you the freshest product possible.

Saffron now stock a selection of Americraft’s beers and ales for retail and also for sale at our Stanley licensed premises. Try the wonderfully named Moose Drool or Trout Slayer. From Hawaii there’s Longboard and Wailua Wheat. The Anchor Porter is also very popular along with Alleycat, Liberty Ale & Downtown Brown.
